It is a movement to bring around good people to identify, understand, appreciate, replicate and scale good work that is being done in the society as a whole.
It is well documented (see “The short history of global living conditions and why it matters that we know it” by Max Roser, economist at the University of Oxford and founder of Our World in Data) that on most key dimensions of human material well being—poverty, literacy, health, freedom, and education—the world is much better off today than it was just a couple of centuries ago. Yet, in survey after survey, the percentage of respondents who think so are in the single digits. Perhaps it’s because our news outlets are replete with negative stories. Bad news easily runs rampant while good news struggles to breathe!
Nexus of Good is a platform to identify, propagate and replicate good work. We are keen to host positive stories that have a constructive and progressive bearing on human existence. We want to change the narrative from negative to positive. We want to go beyond just the feel good factor, however. We want to create a ‘Nexus of Good’ where positive works are shared, replicated and scaled.
We encourage the submission of positive ‘real-life’ stories featuring individuals, groups, communities, organizations, etc., involved in doing any good work for the benefit of society. The good work must have been implemented already and yielded positive results. We do not host stories of proposals or ideas alone. We prefer stories which could be picked up and propagated by others, for instance, in a new geography, industry, etc.
Acceptance Process All submitted stories are reviewed by the Nexus of Good editorial team. Occasionally, a story may be sent to an external reviewer for additional input. The review process can take up to 4 working days. Once a story is accepted and published, the author will receive notification with a link to the story that can be posted on various social platforms to spread the goodness! There is no communication regarding stories that are not accepted.
